Media: Presentation of the design visualization (Flash Plug-in required).
For the context of travelling on trains for long distances, the task was to design a personal on-train information and awareness system for changing trains, possible delays, and alternative routes.
From a set of different scenarios a task analysis was carried out. Several essential use-cases were extracted. Concurrently, an extensive literature study about multimodal perception and auditory-visual interactions with regard to visual, acoustic and tactile stimuli was conducted. Subsequently, a design concept with focus on the optimal direction of the users’ attention was developed. The concept was visualized in a flash demo.
This project accompanied the module „Multimodal Perception and Auditory-Visual Interactions“ of the User-System Interaction post-graduate program at the TU Eindhoven.
