European Study Planner
Planning your studies by comparing European universities
For this two-week project my team and I designed a visualization concept for a Online Study Planner system, which would enable potential students to retrieve and to compare information on educational offers of European universities.
Actions and results
As a starting point we analysed strengths and weaknesses of current study information systems with respect to information visualization. After a task analysis we developed scenarios and several use case for the target users of the system. In a next step we designed a concept for the visualization of the data, incorporating several techniques such as Scatter plots, Attribute Explorer and Magic Lens. As a result, a Flash demo was presented.
This project accompanied the module „Information Visualization“ of the User-System Interaction post-graduate program at the TU Eindhoven.
